Main Content Inlinenewsletter 43, April 2024, extra:The full part 2 of this newsletter will be slightly delayed, not least due to an issue with Instagram – more on this below. In the meantime this is a brief interim bulletin with a couple of very special offers: courses – special last minute offers:Main Content Inline
I’ve had a very positive response to the introduction of the new courses set out in part 1 of this newsletter – as a result I have many bookings, a few even stretching ahead into 2025.However, I find I have some places available on a couple of my ‘original’ tried and tested weekend and ‘gold’ 6 day courses coming up soon, so I’m offering some 1/2 price deals on these:  •  April 10-15 – 6 day course, usual cost £895, offer price £450
  •  April 27/28 – weekend course, usual cost £395, offer price £195
More details of these courses can be found here – click on the appropriate tabs. These aren’t bookable on the smartBoxmaker site – please email me if you’d be interested.Hr
smartWare update and special offer to subscribers:Due to the recent issue with Instagram, and the rebuilding of my website, I’m delaying the full smartWare relaunch until next week.In the meantime I do have everything in stock and in advance of the official relaunch I have reactivated the online ordering from a very simplified website. So, the full smartWare range – smartHingesmartButt and smartLock – are all available in polished brass and stainless steel, with gold plated to special order. It’s all fabulous quality – the best yet – click on the images below for more info and to order.  And for newsletter subscribers I’m offering a 10% discount on all orders placed by April 7th – just enter the following code at checkout:sW_april2-7_10%off
The following are comprehensive downloadable pdfs with plenty of information on the items I offer:   … and you can also download a full pricelist and information on the manufacturing and quality of the range: These are the latest versions but are nevertheless work in progress … animations of all three items can be viewed here.Hr
Meta supplement
Meta disabled my Instagram account last week for a couple of days for absolutely no reason – apologies to anyone who tried to access it during that time. It’s now available again, but I still can’t like any posts or follow anyone! No reason given, except repeatedly getting an alert saying “We restrict certain activity to protect our community”.The ‘Report a problem’ button does nothing, of course, and any attempt to take the issue further wastes hours of valuable time wading through the awful Meta Business Suite. And ultimately doomed to failure, of course! Main Content Inline
And as a matter of interest – can anyone tell me why if viewing Instagram on a desktop browser [which I and many others prefer because of the bigger screen] I’m limited to viewing only 28 posts under any given tag?! For instance, at time of writing the #fineboxmaking tag has 1,785 posts, all of which are viewable on my tiny smartphone screen. But viewing at Instagram.com in Chrome on a desktop only 28 are viewable, presumably chosen by some idiotic algorithm. This is extremely annoying and seems to be pointlessly obstructive. Not to mention random … 28?!I can’t find any reference to this online, but any constructive thoughts would be appreciated …Rant over – thank you for reading, full part 2 along next week.
